Over the last few decades, there were quite few attempts to kumara chips but due to lack of technology handle the high carbohydrates contents in the kumara, those attempts were not successful.
After 3 years R&D in New Zealand, we developed and refined the technology which can preserve the colour and much more nutritional value of fresh kumara and leave less fat in kumara chips.
New Zealanders love snack chips. We tend to through a pack or two chips into weekly shopping trolley without blinking of eyes as one of must items. However, most consumers have a sense of guilt with these “junk food”, and we don’t have many choices, either potato or corn chips. Kumara has been identified as Number One in nutrition of all vegetables.*
