The nose straps main function is that it applies gentle pressure in the same way a dogs pack leader would grasp the snout with your dog learning in his own language that you are the leader. The collar strap at the back of your dogs neck simulates the same interaction a puppy would have with their mum when they are picked up by the back of the neck. With the gentle pressure at the back of the neck the dog pulls backwards not forwards to create perfect walking for you and your dog.
