Choysa tea was first introduced to new zealand by auckland’s bond brothers in 1905 and has established itself as a reliable, consistent quality tea and a favourite of new zealanders for over 100 years. New zealanders have been brewing up choysa tea for over 100 years and it has become an iconic kiwi brand. It is referred to as the perfect tea because of its flavour, fragrance, strength and comforting and refreshing qualities. Choysa tea with its distinctive, bright red and yellow oval logo remains a top selling brand. Since 1905 choysa tea has been produced from the blends of the world’s finest small leaf tea to provide a refreshing, quality taste and aroma and a rich, full flavour in a traditional tea bag. Available in 5 different variants in tea bags, rounds and loose leaf tea there is a choysa blend available for all new zealanders looking for the perfect balance of flavour, aroma and strength in their black tea.
I am very unhappy with Choysa round tea bags, the last 2 packs have been very bad, I have had several bags brake and ended up with loose tea. Not happy, oh and yes I could take back to the supper market, but who really keeps the receipt these days. My thinking is the joins around the edge are way to small. If this happens again I will have to go to something else.

I’ve bought Choysa tea bags for years but in the last 8 months I’ve had numerous problems with the bags splitting and leaves floating in my cup and having to make another cup. I’m well over it and will be swapping to another brand in the future.
+ PROS: Always enjoyed Choysa tea and the flavour.
- CONS:Well over the quality of the bags.

We have preferred Choysa round tea bags for years but no more sine the new packaging. The tea bags are so thin they split nearly every time and you end up with a cup of tea leaves. My husband prefers to leave his tea bag in the cup but he can no longer do this as it just dissolves. Very disappointing. We will be changing our brand.
+ PROS: + taste good if the bag doesn't split
- CONS:Way too many broken bags per packet to make it worthwhile buying

The new packaging in the foil bags is aweful. The teabags are all squashed in the packaging. The bags are so weak. Nearly every cup the bags burst. I’ve bought choysa for years but time to change brands where the bags don’t burst.

Choysa, who told you it was a good idea to change to change your packaging? The old one was fine!
Now I have had difficulty opening the zip-tear-rip-thing, and the little tab doesn’t stay in the slot. The dimensions aren’t right.
Why did you introduce foil bags inside it? The old system was fine. I hate having to get scissors out to access teabags. My fingers can’t just pull it open.
I loved the round tea bags, and bought them in preference to other tea. (easier than square bags to lift out with a spoon and squeeze against the cup).
NOW, I doubt I’ll buy them again, unless you return to your old packaging.
+ PROS: Tastes ok.
- CONS:Awkward, non-recyclable cardboard, and extra packaging are not good for the product, the planet or the customer.
