I believe fabric softener gunks up the machine. I have a guest staying who tips it down the powder shoot and it makes a god awful sticky sludge that does my head in!!! I tried these samples (correctly in the softener flap!) honestly i can’t tell the difference!!!

I always been told it’s bad for washing machine. I use simple white vinegar it works well. And it cheap.
