The winemasters ensemble by nederburg, comprising a top-quality range of varietal offerings, is named to honour the south african winery’s long-established tradition of winemaking excellence. These classically styled, food-friendly wines with abundant fruit flavours, elegance and finesse, treasure the integrity of the grapes in every step of the wine-growing and winemaking journey.
The grapes were harvested by hand and machine, and were crushed and cool-fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for around two weeks. After malolactic fermentation the wine was matured in contact with french and american oak for 12 months.
This delicious wine displays a bounty of plums, prunes and some subtle oak spice on the nose, followed by a full mouthfeel of rich fruit flavours, soft tannins and a lingering aftertaste.
Serve with red meats, roast duck, guinea fowl, quail, ostrich, smoked kassler chops, roast leg of lamb and even chocolate.
