Speight’s was born in 1876 when james speight, charles greenslade and william dawson established their own brewery in dunedin’s rattray st.
Speight’s mid-ale may be lower in alcohol but it’s not lacking in flavour. Packed full of malts and perfectly balanced with nz hops to ensure you are get a rewarding ale experience.
Speight’s mid ale is brewed using the specialty malts crystal, caramalt and chocolate malt, enough to give the beer a smooth caramelised malty flavour and aroma. The sweetness provided by the malts is balanced by an addition of pacific jade and green bullet hops to the kettle boil to release their hoppy bitterness.
Speight’s mid ale is a perfect companion with classic kiwi dishes. It’s well rounded malty flavour profile means it matches well with red meat and bbq dishes such as steak, venison, sausages and burgers.
